Commodores Sign Oton Jankovic To NLI

Forward eligible to compete for Vanderbilt in 2019-20

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt head coach Jerry Stackhouse has announced that Oton Jankovic has signed a National Letter of Intent and will be eligible to compete for the Commodores in the 2019-20 season.

“We’re happy to have Oton aboard,” said Stackhouse. “At 6-10, he has unique playmaking skills and athleticism, and we think he will be able to create mismatches and advantages for others on offense and, with his length and frame, will grow into a presence on defense. We’re excited to welcome Oton and his family to Vanderbilt.”

Jankovic, originally from Zagreb, Croatia, comes to Vanderbilt after spending a season at Monteverde Academy in Florida. He played two seasons in California at Prolific Prep before moving to Florida. He was with the Cibona Zagreb youth system in Croatia before moving to the United States, where he averaged 10 points per game in his age-group FIBA European Championship.

A versatile and athletic front court player, he was ranked the No. 21 overall player in the state of Florida and the 57th-best power forward in the nation by 247Sports.com.
